ZANU PF Bulilima District Coordinating Committee (DCC) chairperson Felix Ncube has been caught in a storm of producing fake cells in the ongoing ruling party’s national cells verification process.
Zanu-PF cell and village structure-building verification programme is currently underway across the country’s 10 provinces.
The verification programme is meant to fulfill the provisions of the party constitution in terms of building cells on an annual basis.
The authenticity of cells that will come out of the exercise will then constitute the voters’ roll to be used when the party goes into the primary elections aheadof this year’s harmonised national elections.
The actual building of cells and verification is being carried out by branch executives, district executives, and cell chairpersons where necessary.
Cde Ncube is reportedly to have generated a fake cell in Natani party district.
The fake cell comprised of non-party members based in Bulawayo which is an illegal move by the DCC chairperson.
Sources close to the development said the move was meant to ensure that Cde Ncube has a good standing ground heading to the primary elections as he had his ward collapsed during the delimitation process.
The fake cell is reportedly to have been spotted by Zanu PF national executive members at the Bulilima Command Centre.
After raising a red flag on the fake cell, it was destroyed before Cde Ncube instructed a party member in Natani party district to generate a copy and make sure it squeezes it’s way again to the Bulilima Command Centre.
When contacted for comment last Thursday, Ncube briefly cut shot the phone call and insisted he will get back to this reporter. He never did. Repeated efforts to get his side of the story were not successful.
Zanu PF is set to start its primary elections for candidates vying to represent the party at this year’s harmonized elections.
