Justice Minister Applauds PQI For Empowering Inmates Through Skills Training And Business Growth.

Minister of Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs, Hon. Ziyambi Ziyambi, has commended Pamberi Qhubekani Investments (PQI) Private Limited for spearheading commercial initiatives that have significantly enhanced the rehabilitation of inmates. Through its programs, PQI continues to equip offenders with vital skills and knowledge to improve their employability post-incarceration.

In a speech delivered on his behalf by the Deputy Minister of Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs, Hon. Nobert Mazungunye, at the company’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) held this afternoon, Minister Ziyambi urged PQI to continue upholding good corporate governance and ethical business practices in its daily operations.

During the AGM, the board chaired by Mr. Josphat Sachikonye was retained, with prominent hotelier Mr. Josephat Kahwema appointed as deputy chairperson. Other board members include Air Vice Marshal (Retired) Henry Muchena and Ms. Marjorie Mutemererwa.

Also in attendance were the Commissioner General of the Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Service (ZPCS), Dr. MCN Chihobvu, along with Deputy Commissioner Generals Shepherd Mpofu (responsible for Operations and a Director in the company), Manetswa Christine Manhivi (Support Services), and Social Ndanga (Production and Business Management).

PQI Private Limited, a company owned by the Ministry of Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs through the ZPCS, is actively engaged in commercial ventures including agronomy, catering services, horticulture, and construction.
