RESORT town Victoria Falls has not been spared of flash floods, with clogged drainages blocking the movement of rain water.

The country, in the last two weeks has received immense rainfall, but this has caused a headache for towns and cities as water drainage systems are blocked.

“With the continuous rains our drainage system do not have the capacity to flow the all the water,” said Victoria Falls Combined Residents Association (VIFACORA) Chinotimba Chapter Secretary General Trymore Ndolo.

“There is a need for resident to keep nearby drainage clean and not use them as dump sites to avoid blockages that will end up leading water to their houses,” he added.

Ndolo further said Mkhosana suburb doesn’t have a drainage system.

“New houses at Mkhosana Township it’s total disaster. The township doesn’t have a drainage system. There is a need for the city council engineering department to carry out a feasible study and visit the area and address the drainage system as a matter of urgency.”
