KEYONA Television has hit the ground running as it seeks to ensure that it meets all its timeline milestones in preparation to start broadcasting in the foreseeable future.
After successfully holding its auditions in December, the television channel has managed to have meetings with selected production houses, producers and presenters.
According to the television station executive communications officer Vuyelwa Sibindi they have been seized with preparations since they made the historical list of six free to air commercial national channels which were awarded licences by government late last year.
“This is evidenced by the timely publication of successful personalities and production companies as it builds up anticipation to the formal introduction of its creative partners to various stakeholders and potential investors,” Sibindi told The Zambezi Times.
She added: “Currently, we are monitoring the Covid-19 situation in the country as the recently announced lockdown restrictions have forced us to postpone indefinitely the unveiling luncheon which was set for January 30 amongst other scheduled events to ensure the safety of all parties.”
The communications officer further indicated that the Content Development Team is working on ensuring that all developmental deals are prepared and signed in line with deadlines so as to prevent any setbacks come production time.
She noted that they are also working on revamping Amakhosi Studios, where the station will be housed to meet global standards.
“KeYona TV prides itself in the strides it is taking and is determined to change the broadcasting landscape and showbiz industry in the country whilst positioning Bulawayo as the content capital.”
