AT LEAST 12 children from Bulawayo schools have tested positive to Covid-19, the Ministry of Health and Child Care (MoHCC) has said.
In total, 19 new cases were recorded in the country in the last 24 hours. Of the 1 159 tests conducted yesterday, the positivity rate was pegged at 1.6 percent.
Cases were recorded in Masvingo with three cases, Manicaland with two cases while Harare and Mashonaland East both reported one case each.
“Nineteen new cases (all local) and zero deaths reported today. (7 days rolling average) for new cases falls to 30 from 31 (yesterday). 12 of these cases are from outbreaks in schools in Bulawayo province,” the ministry said.
“Twenty-four new recoveries: National recovery rate rises to 96percent and active cases go down to 452. As of today, Zimbabwe has recorded 133 187 cases, 128 050 recoveries, and 4 685deaths.
Todate, 8 088 people received their first dose yesterday bringing cumulative for the first dose to 3 371 867 while 6 348 people received their second dose bringing cumulative for the second dose to 2 648 740 as at 1600hours.
