UP and coming gospel artist Thukani Ngwenya and his TNgwenya and Advent Hope troupe, is indebted to the Unique Talent Search which identified him as a gospel artist.
Unique Talent Search is an initiative aimed at identifying artistic talent in and around Bulawayo.
Ngwenya who hails from Esigodini, an area largely viewed as lacking in the gospel Showbiz depth, believes the sky is the limit.
Ngwenya, having been picked by the Unique Talent Search, quickly established himself and his band as a force to reckon in the gospel Showbiz and had since carved a large following in Esigodini and so rounding areas.
Speaking to The Zambezi Times Style and life, from his Esigodini base, Ngwenya was optimistic.
“I have been an artist from childhood and despite staying away from the city it’s no barrier at all for I have what it takes to be a gospel force,” he said.
“For professional music I started singing last November as a solo artist after I met Nozimanga Moyo in Bulawayo on the 6th of August 2022 while competing at Unique Talent Search of Zimbabwe which was hosted at Silwane Park in Bulawayo.
“I stay in Esigodini and thus I record my music at Fort street Studios and my producer is Evidence Masuku aka DJ Vango.
Responding to a question as to how many albums he has so far, he said one album is the market.
“I have one Album titled Umoya wami so far with seven tracks, Umoya wami is the first song.
“Other tracks are Izinsizi, Sizohlabelela, Nangu Lo sathane, Nguye Lo sathane,eCalvery and Zungikhumbule.
He added: “The group has three members so far, Myself, Nozimanga Moyo and Evidence Masuku” he said.
Ngwenya also shared that he is currently working on the visuals for Umoya wami.
“We are on to shoot our Album videos and we have also started working on our second Album and so far we have done 5 songs though the Album might have 8 or 10 tracks.
Ngwenya admitted that his band is the reason why in a short space of time had gone this far.
“My crew is exceptionally multitalented and creative when it comes to music. Myself and Nozimanga Moyo we compose and write our songs and we work even in the night to meet our targets”, said Ngwenya.
