BINGA born up and coming gospel artist, Felix Muleya aka Man of Peace has declared his intentions to be the first to host a musical gala at Binga Centre.
Muleya who leads the Mercy of God band hails from Kariangwe area under Chief Sinakoma in Dimbo Village.
He told The Zambezi Times that as far as he can remember he has not heard or witnessed any musical gala at the popular Binga Centre.
Having landed on the gospel music scene in 2010 his only album is his eight track album titled Mwami waluse which he released in 2017.
Muleya said plans are afoot for him to host the debut gala where a host of local artists are set to feature.
“I am planning to hold a big show with many other artists from Binga. However, I am still working on the dates but it’s something that is certainly going to happen,” he said.
Muleya who is a versatile multilinguistic singer who churns his music in Tonga, Ndebele and English is riding high on his latest offering single.
“I have since dropped a new single which I recorded in September and its titled Luyando lwamwami (True love of God) where I featured Trust Dube and the single was recorded at DanMag Studios.
“I really thank God that the single is doing well and my biggest prayer is to produce more quality music to reach out to many people so as to fulfil the desires in me through communicating them through my music,” Muleya said.
Turning on to his plan to have a musical gala at Binga Centre he said Binga got talent.
“In Binga there are lots of artists that which I know as of now are, T Dube, Tripple Z, Mave TEE, Rewa-Rewa, Ayoba, Gress J Dube, Victor & Victor Muvimba and many others,” he said
Muleya believes its high time artists from Binga and the entire Matabeleland North province believe in themselves.
“We are not yet able to do like the artists from Harare or Bulawayo I haven’t heard of any show which was held at Binga Centre so next year I promise a very big show it will be the first big show to be done by Tonga artists,” he said.
He added: “People from Binga should be ready for this show and to us as artists let us be relevant to our community so that in turn they can accept our works also my last words to the people of Binga is to learn to support each other as artists because without our fans there is nowhere we can go in this arts industry.”
