EVERYTHING rises and falls on leadership, has been the statement throughout generations. It is still true in our generation. In other words your production depends entirely on your leadership and then it will be true to say your production rises and falls on your leadership.
It is the blind spots in our personal leadership that upset our leadership and in so doing perturb our productivity. Blind spots are ignored areas of failure in our personal lives that we surprisingly vividly perceive in other people’s lives.
We find it easy to diagnose them on others and not on ourselves because we judge ourselves based on our intentions and we judge those around us based on their actioned behaviors. Let’s quickly catch a glimpse on some of these production inhibitors.
- EGOCENTRIC PERSPECTIVE
A leader destined for failure, is non-other than the one who thinks that himself individually is better than his team collectively. Easiest way to derail your business is through subscribing to egocentric perspective.
The attitude of thinking at all times that only you as a leader or manager brings to the table sound ideas and only you knows what is best for the company. That sort of attitude is a production fast inhibitor.
The attitude that makes you assume everything should make sense only when judged from your perspective is a great giant step towards a great fall. You want your teammates to understand things only from your point of view.
Most painfully, you don’t care how much you hurt those next to you as long as you manage to achieve your intended goal. There is only one definite upshot from such a perspective and that is a great fall. Egocentrism precedes a great business derailment.
- INSECURITY
Egocentrism and insecurity are close related cousins. Unlike an egocentric leader, an insecure leader never enjoys his dominance as he is always fixated on the assumed possible threat that the person next inline might take his spot.
This form of attitude will cause you to lose out on your profit and production as it causes you to hardly consider ideas from other people below you inconsiderable of how brilliant or trend breaking the ideas might be. All this happens because the acceptance of their ideas to you means the denial of your ideas and progressively your potential replacement.
Insecurity makes you not to trust your team with responsibilities bigger than their pay grade as that makes you feel like you over empowering them but in so doing your team never grows beyond their current and so does your production. Jeremy Aldan says, “Insecurity kills all that is beautiful”.
I have a simple formula that will help you kill your beautiful business over night and that is insecurity. Mind your insecurities before they mind your business that you built over years. - ILL CHARACTER
Your talent, gift, and skill turned into a business definitely positions you right at the top of the success ladder but it’s your character that will keep you there. Success is spelt, work and it is in its makeup a resultant of hard work.
Success has never been an overnight achievement. Its prize for generations has always been, long hours, huge investments, great compromise, serious focus, sound routines, and great determination.
All that put together over years and years, success is born. The only thing that can be achieved over night is failure. What took you ten years to build can be lost over night and one of the causes may be your ill character. The way you relate with your team and partners is very crucial.
We live in a transparent world and whatever you do with whoever you do it with, where ever you do it, can take only one click to be known by anyone and everyone in the world and that can either make you or break you.
The more you become successful the more your life becomes public and your life is your character and that part of you can either make your business better or derail it overnight. The pinnacle of prominence requires consistent sound character. Mind your character before it minds your productivity and affects your profit.
Mind these production inhibitors before they mind your business and cost you a great deal of lose.
